I have owned this for a year now with absolutely no complaints. It cooks perfectly everytime and is small enough for cooking a meal for 2 but large enough for family size meals. I previously bought a much larger slow cooker as I thought it would allow for big batches of soups - which it indeed does. What I did not realise is that there is a minimum amount that can be cooked in slow cookers and so bought this one for my smaller dishes. I now only really use this one. It is worth purchasing a slow cooker cook book as it makes a huge difference to slow cooking. Understanding the basics and how to adapt traditional meals for slow cookers is vital. I would not be without this product and recommend to anyone that likes hastle free healthy cooked food.

Again i purchased this from all the 5 star reviews it got.............and i was not let down. Having never owned a slow cooker before i was a little apprehensive about my first purchase. I read the previous reviews with great interest on this model and many others. I decided to go with this Morphy Richards model and i was not disappointed. After reading the instructions carefully i set about making my first dish by following one of the recipes that came in the book. After 5 hours i could not wait to try it out. I must admit my first venture in the slow cooking world was not as good as it could have been but i have improved vastly since and it has saved me a load of time in the kitchen now and we use this at least twice a week to cook food while we are at work.

I was anxious when it came to buying this because I have had the same slow cooker for 20-30 years, and it has never let me down. However, I have moved into a newly built house with a spanking new kitchen, so my old orange slow cooker didn't really match the stainless steel sink and other mod-cons. So, I got rid of my old one, and decided to buy this. It is amazing! You just cook up the meat and veg in a pan, and then bang it into the slow cooker on high for about 30 mins, then on low for the rest of the day or overnight. This is the best slow cooker on the market. The lid stays on tight, so steam stays in the cooker, therefore the food keeps it's liquid. I would recomend this to anyone. I liked it so much I got it for a present for someone.

I bought this slow cooker as i've just started working full time after finishing uni, on my Mum's recommendation. I'll admit I was sceptical about slow cookers - not getting to a high enough temp and cooking for hours on end. But I have to say Mum's are always right!! I haven't had a problem with the slow cooker its self, its easily big enough for a family of 4 and is really easy to clean. The slow cooker doesn't take up a great deal of space either. The recipes included in the manual use mainly store cupboard ingredients and are really simple to follow. I was sceptical at first but now I'd recommend this to anyone who doesn't fancy cooking a proper meal when they get home after a hard day's work. Plus you'll be greeted by a delicious smell when you walk through the door!! What could be better?

I'm a mum of two young children and I'm trying to get an Art degree..... I also get pain in my knees from standing for any length of time. I was getting to the point when I would come home from college and just ring in a pizza.. or stick something under the grill because I was in no fit state to cook anything.... Needless to say, after a few weeks of this, we were all feeling grotty! ( and I felt guilty...) Investing in a slow cooker has made a big difference to us all and it's now part of our routine. I can't compare it with others as I haven't tried anything else, but my Morphy Richards Slow Cooker has been fab. I'm usually feeling ok when I'm up first thing, so it isn't much hassle to do the prep, sling it all in the pot and get on with the rest of the day..... But if I'm feeling ok in the evening, I might attempt something more complicated, put it in the pot, and store it all in the fridge for the morning.... so I can even get a bit of a lie-in.... (not that I ever do.... ) It's such a pleasure to come home and just serve up. I only have one pot to wash with the plates too, another bonus when you're whacked! I have seen some of the cookers with a "keep warm" function... which looks interesting.. but I have to say, If I have been away from home longer than I intended to be, as long as the recipe is being cooked on low, it's always still fine. I bought a couple of great vegetarian slow cooker books and we've had some great meals from it.. moussaka, leek and skitaki mushroom gratin...even lasagne.... (have a Durban Curry on the go at the minute...) Admittedly, at first I subjected my lot to some very sloppy dishes.. (didn't trust the instructions to use less water!!) ... but now I have really got the hang of it. Everything tastes great and I know it's good for us all too.... (Have to be careful being a veggie!) The removable pot is pretty cool... I don't know if you're meant to be able to stick it under the grill to brown things... but I do... and haven't had problem with it.... though I know some of the more expensive models allow you to... It's a standing joke amongst my friends that I am a slow cooker obsessive now... But I don't care... Xmas shopping has been easier this year.. they're all getting one!! ... I even got one for my caravan... ( saves gas, economical with electricity... and my time ) Hope this helps!

I had wanted a slow cooker for ages and decided on this one for two reasons - the price and the good reviews it had previously. My first attempt at cooking with the slow cooker was poor because I used a jar of sauce instead of cooking from scratch. I was concerned that I had wasted my money but plodded on and chose a recipe in the booklet accompanying the machine. It was superb! I now understand that the whole idea of a slow cooker is to avoid the easy option of buying a jar of sauce etc. With simple ingredients you can get a superb sauce which is far superior in taste and nutrition to it's pre-made counterparts. I have since made several of the recipes in the booklet. These are a little repetitive though (chicken paprika and beef paprika) so I have just ordered 2 further recipe books specifically for the slow cooker. The recipes included do need a little preparation beforehand but are well worth the effort and take no more than 10 or 15 minutes to prepare. This particular machine seems very well made - I have no doubt you could break something if you threw it around so don't and it will last you! The size is bigger than I expected. We are a family of 4 and it is plenty big enough. I always seem to have some left over to freeze too. This has to be my purchase of the year so far!!! Treat yourself!!

Not too much I can say, really, and nothing to fault. It's a very nice, smart looking cooker with three heat settings and a crock that is removable and dishwasher safe. It comes with an instruction book that contains a dozen or so simple recipies, many of which we've tried and all are very nice. I think the price is very reasonable and we're certainly getting our money's worth, using it once a week. Sausage casseroles in particular are excellent cooked this way.

This arrived yesterday and I immediatley wanted to try it. I used the Beef Stroganoff recipe that came bundled with the item and have to say the results were absolutley fantastic - the taste - just like at some fancy French eaterie - and on my first attempt!! Plus I cooked on high for 4 hours rather than low for 7 but for me....this is the start of fantastic home cooking for the winter to come. Plus it fills the house with those mouthwatering casserole smells and for less than twenty quid....Ace A+++

This cooker is amazing! It is big enough to cook a 3 pound chicken with veg, and enough for most meals that I make for our family of 2. It only has low med and hi settings, and doesn't have any fancy timers, but I've made many recipes with it since I've bought it, and I haven't missed those functions at all. It's a great basic slow cooker, and it's changed my life! I now come home to piping hot, tasty, home cooked meals on a regular basis, and what's not to love about that?

I think it works fab as most of the other reviews do. My one complaint is that somehow the plastic on mine seemed to be substandard... I don't know if this would be the case with all these produced or just a batch? I've had mine for a couple of years and use it maybe once a month (we're not talking heavy use here). ALL of the plastic components are breaking off. The handle on one side of the stainless steel outer pot snapped in 2, part of the lid (the bit you use to lift the glass lid off the pot) handle cracked off, and just now the dial on the front snapped in 2, meaning I can no longer select off/high/medium/low without a pair of pliers. Hmmm. I'll be getting a new one, and it's not going to be another of these. :(
