The Original Sophie the Giraffe Teether Toy

After seeing this rated as the best teether in a baby magazine I thought I'd give it a try. It is more expensive than other teethers (my husband was horrified when I confessed to the cost) but my son will not use any others and loved Sophie from day one. She comes everywhere with us. I did make the mistake of putting it in the sterisliser (wanted it to be clean before he put is in his mouth) and it hasn't squeaked since!

Don't be deceived by its appearance... We thought surely this is a dog toy, but no... This is the best toy we were given for our baby. He LOVES it! Easy to grab when they are first learning to pick things up, lovely to chew when the gums are sore and squeaks! Our 10 month old still loves his.

A friend bought this for my son when he was born and he has loved it from day one! Not only because it squeaks, but also because he can chew on it to his heart's desire and he can grab hold of it easily. It's a great toy for him to play with in his pram and it's also proving very useful in helping him to learn to crawl as he turns over often to try and grab it. Highly recommended as a gift!

I ordered sophie the giraffe after reading great reviews about her, i can tell you they are all true! my husband and family members all laughed at me when she arrived and i lovingly called her sophie from day 1. at the time my 2 1/2 month old son took a liking to her straight away and after a few days constantly put her in his mouth. 3 months later everytime i pull sophie out his face lights up, we take her everywhere- he loves her!it has also been the only teether that he has got on with because he can hold her from all angles and put different parts in his mouth. i now buy sophie for anyone who has a baby!!!

When my now 23 yr old son was a baby he teethed on a cheap wee rubber giraffe that we took everywhere with him.....when looking for something similar for my 4 month old Granddaughter I came across Sophie....it's fab and she loves it....it's maybe not cheap but it's worth every penny....it's perfect for little hands to hold....they'll love chewing on Sophie's legs and head....I highly recommend this for your baby

I bought this for my four month old baby boy who has started showing signs of teething. He took to Sophie immediately, grabbing her and using her to chew on when he feels like doing so. The physique of the little giraffe is perfect for tiny hands to hold on to and the fact that Sophie is made from non-toxic materials makes her ideal for a baby who likes to chew on everything (and chewing on is obviously what she is intended for!). Sophie has become a constant companion and my little boy even holds on to her when going for a ride in his pram! Absolutely worth it!

My six month old son loves this toy, despite it looking like a dog toy. Really helps with his teething pain. Several of his wee friends have one and it is perfect for his little hands to hold.

This is a really cute toy, and I have heard many great things about how it helps during those crazy teething times. Unfortunately, my son just isn't too fussed about it. He seems to put just about anything in his mouth - except for Sophie! He enjoys it as a toy, but just doesn't see the benefit in chewing it. Fortunately, he doesn't seem to suffer too much when he's teething anyway. Whenever other children see him with this toy, they are always very interested in it and will immediately start chewing it, so I can understand that it definitely works for some, but just not us!

I bought Sophie a couple of months ago as my son had been teething from four weeks old (he is now six months)and had tried pretty much everything on the market. I came across this whilst searching for something else on Amazon. After reading the reviews i thought i would try it for my son. All i can say is he hasnt really let go of it since i bought it, only when he sleeps. It has been great for chewing/gnawing on and provides much comfort in his hours of need on a daily basis. It has a nice soft feel to it, its easy for him to grip and also has a little squeak which he enjoys. I have told all of my fellow parents of this magnificent Teether toy and continue to hear great reviews. I feel you wont be disappointed.

my 7-month old son got it and was not interested in it at first instance. But after a few weeks, he gets used to it and starts to use it as a teether. Only squeeze the Giraffe a few times though, the noise does not seem to appeal to him. Overall it is a nice toy, but perhaps a bit overpriced?
